Advertising is a diverse field. The more the said the better. People don’t invest in here because they think they can do something, they invest in here because they know that they can definitely do something. That’s advertising for you. The media always vary, and it keeps changing directions simply because one becomes more profitable than the other.

Today the era of internet has come, and it has arrived in such a thundering way, that it has left all other media of communication behind. At popular property website Rightmove, this seems to be the general trend. Although the real estate and the property industry is not exactly on an all time high right now, but yet it is being said that more than 20 pc of property advertising is being done online, and not in print. And why is it so? That’s obviously because even property players might have realized till now that better invest in something that yields direct response, not just desire.

It is being said that almost a whooping 20pc of advertising preferences have shifted from print to online in the last one year. But , the industry , which is not growing that well, with one in every five estate agents leaving the industry, and the number of houses being sold reduced to half the numbers from last year.

It has been a very vicious cycle, where advertising revenues have shrunk down deplorably because of people quitting their jobs, and on the other hand less advertising is working adversely in garnering less attention towards this sector.
